Jamie Stott has been recalled from his loan at Stockport County and has returned to parent club Oldham Athletic.
The young defender had made 16 appearances for County and has been a stalwart at centre back, helping the Hatters secure eight victories in their previous ten games and propelling them into the play-offs.
The news will come as a blow to manager Jim Gannon, who favours an even back four with two left footed and two right footed defenders.
The Latics are one position above the drop zone in League 1 with three matches to play. Stott will likely go straight into their squad for their game against Southend tomorrow evening.
