Weekly Round Up: Contract extensions & trophy progress

1 – Epic comeback secures Trophy progress

County came from two goals down to beat National League Maidenhead 3-2 in extra time at Edgeley Park. Two second half goals from United put them in the driving seat but late goals from George West, Darren Stephenson and Jimmy Ball secured progress for the Hatters, who also saw skipper Harry Winter sent off in extra time.

2 – Attackers extend contracts as Gannon builds for next season

Matty Warburton and Adam Thomas have both signed on at the club until the end of the 2019 season. The two attacking players have been mainstays in the team this season when fit and will form integral parts of Gannon’s plans for a hybrid full/part-time squad next year.

3 – Late cancellation as Edgeley Park pitch deemed unplayable

Spare a thought for Nuneaton fans, who found out only 35 minutes before kick off that the game against County had been cancelled. The Edgeley Park pitch is still clearly feeling the effects of the Burnley U18’s match that took place a few weeks ago.

A new date for the match has yet to be announced.

4 – 50 tickets left for FC United match

UPDATE: Now sold out

County have already sold 600 tickets for the game against FC United next weekend, and the remaining 50 standing tickets are going on open sale from noon today at the club shop. Be quick if you want to get one, they will sell out and there are no tickets available on the day.

5 – Rivals slip up in interesting weekend of NLN action

Brackley, Salford, Bradford and Chorley all dropped points in the race for promotion this weekend. But important victories for York, Harrogate and Blyth Spartans saw them emerge from the the weekends’ matches as the big winners.

County now sit six points from the play-offs with up to two games in hand on some of their rivals at the top.
