PREVIEW: Hatters set to host National League Maidenhead in cup replay

Stockport County will host Maidenhead United tonight in the FA Trophy last 16 replay, with both teams aiming to reach the quarter finals for the first time in their history.

The teams couldn’t be separated on Saturday, with Ryan Upward’s second half strike cancelling out Matty Warburton’s deflected shot early in the game.

The winner of Tuesday’s replay will pocket £8,000 and find themselves only two rounds from Wembley, with Brackley Town awaiting the victors.

Opposition:

Founded in 1870 and currently plying their trade in the National League Premier, the division above County, Maidenhead are enjoying one of their most successful spells in the modern era.

The Magpies are currently 13th following their promotion from the NLS, 11 points clear of relegation despite operating on a part-time basis. Managed by former England midfielder Alan Devonshire, they will again provide a tough test for County as the sides lock horns again on Tuesday.
