Rhys Turner has joined Stockport County on loan from Morecambe until the end of the season, as Jim Gannon looks to strengthen his attacking options.
The striker, who last played for County at the beginning of the 2013-2014 season, has been at the Shrimps since 2016 and made 30 appearances last season for the club.
This year, the former Oldham man has only made six league appearances for the Lancashire club, with only one of those games not coming from the bench.
County manager Jim Gannon said he was happy with his current attack but was keen to continue strengthening up top.
“He comes highly recommended by the current (Morecambe) staff, and his pace, directness and skill on the run will provide an exciting and penetrating edge to our front play”, he told Stockport County’s official website on Wednesday.
“The current form of our attackers is good and we have been pleased with their overall form and productivity, but we need to ensure we stay strong and purposeful in that department for the rest of the season”.
Turner will be available for selection immediately, and has been tipped to go straight into the squad for the visit of Salford this weekend.
