Stockport County will travel to high-flying Brackley Town this weekend as they look to continue their five game unbeaten run in all competitions.
Jim Gannon’s side, who will be coming into the game fresh off the back of an impressive victory at Southport in midweek, will hope to continue their form against one of the division’s high-flying teams.
One of the southern-most sides in the division, Brackley Town are also one of the smallest. At 427, The Saints had the lowest average attendance in the National League North last season despite an impressive campaign in which they missed out on the play-offs by a single point. That finish, in the upper echelons of the division, was their highest ever but the club are well-placed to go one better this year, sitting third in the division going into the busy Christmas period.
Last season, County faced the Northamptonshire side no less than four times, losing in the league at home and eventually in the FA Trophy after the game went to a replay. The Hatters did, however, put in a fine away performance at St James’ Park to come away with the league points in a 3-0 victory.
Jimmy Ball could miss out after suffering a midweek knock in the defeat of Southport, with Harry Winter potentially in line to replace the midfielder after successfully making his comeback from injury last weekend.
Michael Clarke could return to the side after missing out on Wednesday, but Chris Smalley will be hoping to keep his place in the side after an impressive performance in the centre of defence at Haig Avenue.
The game will take place at St James Park, a 3,500 capacity venue with small covered terraces at each end of the ground.
Address: Churchill Way, Brackley, NN13 7EJ
Admission for the match comes in at a reduced £12/£6/£3. Tickets are available on the gate with no need to purchase in advance.
