REPORT: Hatters brush United aside at Edgeley Park

Goals from Matty Warburton, Kallum Mantack and Jason Oswell ensured County returned to winning ways in style this weekend, as the easily overcame FC United at Edgeley Park.

A quick-fire start from the Hatters gave supporters a feeling of deja vu, as the home side went three goals up inside the first half against their Manchester rivals for the second time this season.

Warburton opened the scoring with a smart finish from inside the area, before Oswell’s strike off the bar and substitute Mantack’s tap in put County in control.

An early second half goal from Jason Gilchrist gave the away side hope of producing another comeback, but that was extinguished when Warburton scored his second from the penalty spot, after Oswell was felled by Matthew Hughes.
