Curzon Ashton’s Danny Shaw has this week rejected an approach from Stockport County, as Jim Gannon looks to further strengthen his defensive options.
According to the club’s official website. The defender, who has been a regular for the Tameside outfit this season, has committed himself to the club for the foreseeable future.
In what was a bizarre statement from the Greater Manchester club, manager Jon Flanagan told supporters that ‘the grass isn’t always greener’ for players wanting to move to County.
“Danny is an intelligent lad and being in a happy environment was very important to him, in my opinion he’s made the right decision and ultimately we’re delighted he’s staying.”
The 32-year-old defender joined the ‘Nash’ in 2014 and has become a fan favourite since working his way into the team.
