REPORT: Salford edge County at Moor Lane

Two first half goals from Salford City were enough to edge out Stockport County as they lost 2-1 at Moor Lane on Tuesday night in front of 1,000 away supporters.

An early Michael Nottingham goal and an Anthony Dudley strike midway through the first half, were enough to see of The Hatters, who pulled one back just before half-time through Connor Hampson.

Nottingham headed in an early cross to put City into the lead, before Dudley followed up with The Ammies second after he cut in from the left wing.

Connor Hampson’s first goal for the club put Stockport back in contention before half-time, the defender drilling the ball past Crocombe on 41 minutes.

But despite a spirited second half from County, in which both sides had chances to add to their tallies, they could not find a second goal and go back to SK3 still in search of their first away points of the campaign.
