Thomas avoids repeat ACL surgery

There was good news for Adam Thomas and Manager Jim Gannon ahead of the Curzon Ashton match, as the club confirmed the attacker had not suffered a repeat of the season-ending injury to his knee.

The 23-year-old was stretchered off during the pre-season game against Bolton Wanderers and Hatters fans have been sweating on the seriousness of the injury.

But the club today confirmed that his scan had come back with the less-severe diagnosis of ligament damage which, whilst still being a blow to the player, means he should be back within a matter of weeks rather than months.
