The Opposition:

Altrincham now occupy a space in the Evo-stik Premier, following a second successive relegation from the National League North. The club have had a tricky two years and despite occupying the division below, Alty will provide a tough test for Jim Gannon’s side and are one of the favourites for promotion back to the National League North.

There’ll also be County connections galore as numerous former Hatters players including Tim Deasy and Kyle Brownhill also make up part of the Altrincham squad.

Team News:

County manager Gannon will likely name another strong line-up as he looks to build cohesion within his squad ahead of the start of the league campaign, and with Altrincham playing at the same level as County up until last season, the game will allow a more realistic indicator for supporters of how this new team will fare.

Chris Smalley returns to the squad after missing the Nomads match, whilst a number of Alan Lord’s academy squad will also be looking to make an appearance and impress within the first team.

Venue:

The game will take place at Altrincham’s J. Davidson Stadium, segregation will not be in place for this fixture. The ground has good facilities and will be no stranger to County fans who witnessed an entertaining 3-2 victory for The Hatters just under a year ago.
