County had to settle for a share of the spoils against Darlington after the Hatters went ahead three times, but goals from Danny Lloyd and James Ball were not enough to secure the points as the Quakers took advantage of some poor County defending to nick a point from Edgeley Park.
Danny Lloyd scored a header and assisted the Darlo ‘keeper in putting the ball in his own net as County scored twice before the break, but were undone on the break on two occasions as the away side remained dangerous going forward.
A double substitution after the break saw County regain the lead, with Jimmy Ball scoring with a low drive 2 minutes, after replacing Kayode Odejayi, to put County 3-2 up. But despite County looking the superior team for the majority of the second half, some shoddy defending gave Mark Beck the opportunity to equalise with an easy header from 4 yards out with 5 minutes to go.
County pressed for a winner and Jimmy Ball again had the chance to score, but smashed his effort from 20 yards against the crossbar and away to safety. It wasn’t long after that the referee ended this rollercoaster of a match, three all the final score.
