Darlington are another team with their sites set high. Since their reformation in 2012 they have been promoted 3 times and last season finished in the National League North play-offs at their first attempt. Unfortunately for The Quakers, league regulations meant their ground was not suitable for the play-offs and their position was forfeited. But after a summer of soul-searching, the club will be hoping to do the business again this season and are one of the favourites to go up behind Kidderminster, Salford and York.
Darlo play at Blackwell Meadows (pictured above) after first moving from Darlington Arena, where the original club played their games, and then from Heritage Park in Bishop Auckland to ensure games were played back in Darlington for the coming season. The club spent over £250,000 getting the facilities up to scratch but further investment over the summer will be needed if the club are to progress. Tickets are £14/£10/£5 with under 5’s going free.
