As well as being County’s bogey team, the recently promoted Chorley have taken to the 6th tier of English football like a duck to water, finishing 4th and reaching the final of the play-offs in their first season and only just missing out last year, finishing in 8th place. Barring a managerial meltdown they will be aiming to do the same this year and it’s so far so good for lancashire side, they currently sit in 3rd place. The magpies are one of the better supported teams in the division and the club seem to be on firm footing and on an upward trajectory.
Chorley’s Victory Park is an old fashioned non-league ground, containing a typical main stand and 2 ends of small covered terraces. County fans will most likely be located in the smaller of the two terraced ends, similar to last season (Pilling Lane End). Our trip there last November resulted in a 1-0 loss, but despite this, County fans created a great atmosphere and the short 35 minute journey north will mean a good 1000 should make the trip this season. County fans will be charged £10/£7/£5/£2 for entry. Let’s hope the result is a little more positive though and we can get our first win against Chorley!
