Preview: County vs Curzon Ashton

County are back in National League North action this weekend after a 2 week absence from league football. Following the AFC Fylde postponement and the FA cup victory over Hyde United.

Team News:

County are without any new significant injuries and have a relatively full squad to choose from, barring long term absentees Ryan Ellison and Adam Thomas. John Marsden and Josh Amis will be hoping to build upon their substitute appearances last weekend against Hyde and push for a starting spot, whereas Scott Spencer and Kayode Odejayi will be hoping to keep their positions upfront alongside Danny Lloyd as part of an attacking trio.

It looks like it could be a game of goals this weekend, with Curzon’s last two matches seeing them concede a total of 9 goals, they’re the 4th most leaky team in the division. Curzon’s current form isn’t fantastic, they’ve had one victory and one draw in the last five games, along with 3 losses to Fylde, Tamworth and Salford.

Current League Positions:

Curzon currently sit in 19th, just outside relegation. Whilst County are currently in 11th position. 7 points of play-off spots but with a game in hand.

County will be travelling to the Tameside Stadium for only the second time when they visit this weekend. Last season’s match ended in a 1-1 draw and with a big County following expected, they’ll be looking to go one better and grab a victory tomorrow.
