In Lowestoft’s first ever conference north season, Ady Gallagher guided the Suffolk club to a respectable 16th place finish. This mid-table finish came off the back of a successful play-off campaign which resulted in promotion from the Isthmian Premier League in 2013-2014. County actually performed reasonably well against the Trawler Boys last season, getting 4 points out of 6, including a controversial 2-2 away draw in which a late Lowestoft penalty denied County a third successive victory. For the coming season, Lowestoft will be hoping to build upon their highest ever league finish of 16th in the 6th tier of English football.
Lying on the east coast near Norwich, there’s no contest over County’s furthest away trip for the coming season. Lowestoft actually lies closer to the Netherlands than it does to Stockport and the numerous Hatters supporters who will no doubt make the journey down again deserve a lot of credit. Fans of the Trawler boys deserve sympathy too, most games for Town next season require a fair amount of travelling effort, although some comfort will be provided by the knowledge that Barrow are now out of the division. Admission prices for Crown Meadow are £12/£9/£3 and the Blue and White Army should allow 4 and a half hours of travelling time.
